This was a student project to create a handmade book cover.
Alone in Berlin is a novel written in1947 by the German author Hans Fallada and inspired by a true story. Devastated by his son's death during the war, Otto Quangel decides to spread postcards throughout Berlin with messages defying the Nazi regime, with the hope to spark resistance.
The cover is made using an original postcard of Berlin from the 1940s with a man's silhouette cut-out, representing the main character's isolation in his fight.
